

The University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Al Musannah has launched the “Al Batinah South Summer 2026” programme under the theme “Creativity – Connection – Impact”.
Organised by the Department of Continuing Education and Community Service in collaboration with the Office of the Governor of Al Batinah South and several government and community partners, the programme will continue until July 9.
The initiative targets school and university students, employees, job-seekers and members of the local community through more than 35 free workshops covering eight key areas, including technology and artificial intelligence, English language, engineering, arts and design, entrepreneurship, scientific research, health and Islamic studies.
Areej al Jamai, Acting Head of the Department of Continuing Education and Community Service, stated that the programme reflects the strong collaboration between UTAS-Al Musannah, the Office of the Governor of Al Batinah South, and partner institutions. She noted that the initiative provides a supportive learning environment aimed at developing human capabilities and strengthening community engagement.
She added that the programme aligns with the university’s commitment to community service by offering high-quality educational and training opportunities that help participants develop new skills and broaden their knowledge.
Dr Khalifa al Hatmi, one of the program trainers specialising in scientific research and academic publishing, highlighted the importance of the initiative in meeting the needs of students and researchers seeking to enhance their research skills. He noted the strong participation witnessed on the first day and participants’ enthusiasm to learn the fundamentals of research methodology and academic writing.
The program is implemented in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of Al Batinah South, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Roads Department in Al Batinah South, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department, and Al Musannah Toastmasters Club.
